Help! My House Is Falling Down – C4 Tuesday 10th August @ 8pm
Posted on 05/08/10, filed under News | No CommentsDiamond Training Group is due to be featured in a brand new show on Channel 4 starting Tuesday 10th August, which is being presented by Sarah Beeny.
Diamond Training Group was introduced to the shows production company by Leo @ Bluesky Stone Direct, who was responsible for supplying Brazilian Slate floor tiles for the kitchen and patio areas of the project. We was then asked if we would be available to undertake the installation of these floor tiles, which we agreed to do in January of this year.
We sent Sam Koujan, Head Tiling tutor at our West Sussex branch along with a few of the students training with us to complete the Brighton based project which they really enjoyed being a part of, especially as they managed to possibly get themselves on TV!
For those of you that would like to view the show, the series is due to start on channel 4 Tuesday 10th August @ 8pm. There is also a link to the shows website below.

Posted on 21/01/10, filed under News | No CommentsWith the construction industry starting to show signs of improving and breaking out of the recession, now is the time to gain the skills and qualifications required to work within this fantastic industry.
With a huge demand for skilled trade’s people, especially within the traditional “wet trade” areas such as wall & floor tiling and plastering, construction officials are reporting that there is a massive UK skills shortage that will only increase over the next 5 years. In a survey of its members, the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) found that an overwhelming 79% have experienced problems finding skilled staff over the last year, particularly in the crafts and trades sector.
Overall, 65% of those surveyed claimed the current workforce is not skilled, and 91% said they expect the shortage of up to standard workers to extend beyond this year. Michael Brown, deputy chief executive of the CIOB commented “Urgent attention is needed to attract more people into our industry. The attraction of projects like the Olympics should provide an opportunity to showcase the industry and attract many more young people.”
The Construction Industry Training Board says the sector must recruit 88,000 skilled workers every year for the next five years to meet its needs.
As you can clearly see there has never been a better time to start acquiring new skills and Diamond Training Group are here to help. We are able to provide you with the skills / knowledge and qualifications to start your new business in a very short space of time.
